COMPARISON OF STUDENTS’ ANXIETY LEVELS IN RHYTHM EDUCATION AND DANCE COURSE


The purpose of this study was to compare the pre and post anxiety levels of students who has picked “Rhythm Education and Dance” course due to 8-week training in Department of Sport Sciences (n=35). In the study the “State-Trait Anxiety Questionnaires” developed by Spielberger et al. in 1970 and adapted to Turkish culture by Öner and Le Compte (1983) were used. In statistical analyzes; descriptive statistical analyzes, normality test, paired samples t-test performed for pre-test and post-test comparisons and also t-test and Anova tests were performed for defining test results’ relation with various variables. As a result, data was normal distribution, there’s no significant difference between the state and trait anxiety tests before and after 8-week courses but students’ test results were significantly different according to their age, mothers’ working or not, economic conditions and place of residence variables.
